“This week I marked an amazing new milestone in my career,” so wrote BBC’s Nancy Kacungira on her Social Media accounts, Thursday, August 17, as she enunciated her new promotion at the International News Network.
Nancy who was clearly very elated, mentioned that she was very happy for the new responsibility… “I’m thrilled,” she said, then tried to project what she hoped to achieve with her new position;
“I want to do my part to prepare the way for the young Africans who will come after me, and go much further than me. We are almost always judged by where we come from, so it’s up to us to build not just a narrative but a reality of excellence about Africa and Africans.”
On Instagram, she asked her fans to make always make date with her on Mondays! “I started this week and I can’t thank you all enough for the tremendous support. I feel totally blessed”
Indeed Uganda and Africa feels blessed to and they have not stopped to send her congratulatory messages.
